Who is responsible for your data

What we collect

This site asks only for what we need in order to reply. No advertising profiling, and we never sell data.

• Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message. Also phone, company and country if you provide them.
• Newsletter: your email address and the date you signed up, nothing more.
• Cookie choice: your decision, the policy version shown, the language and the page. A random identifier is stored alongside it; it cannot identify you.
• Analytics: visit statistics via Google Analytics, only if you accept, with your IP address anonymised.
• Anti-spam: Google reCAPTCHA inspects how you interact with the form to tell a person from a bot.
• Web fonts: the site's typefaces are served by Google Fonts, so Google's servers receive your IP address and browser details each time a page loads. Google states that it sets no cookies for this service and does not use the data for advertising.

Why, and on what legal basis

Data protection law requires us to name, for each use, the reason that entitles us to process your data. Here is ours, use by use.

• To answer your enquiry — you wrote to us, and we have a legitimate interest in writing back. If an engagement follows, the processing becomes necessary to put the contract in place.
• Newsletter — we send it only if you asked for it. That request is what the law calls your consent, and the unsubscribe link in any issue withdraws it.
• Analytics — your consent, given through the cookie notice. Nothing loads before that, and declining changes nothing about how the site works.
• Form security and the consent log — legitimate interest in blocking spam, plus our legal obligation to be able to evidence the cookie choice you made. That is the only reason the log exists.
• Web fonts — legitimate interest in rendering the site in the typefaces it was designed in. No cookie is set and nothing is stored on your device.

Who has access

Your data is seen only by AllegianceTek people handling your enquiry. We use two processors: Mailjet (Sinch, EU) to deliver email, and Google for reCAPTCHA and, with your consent, Analytics. The site also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads, without any cookie being set. We do not sell or rent data to anyone.

How long we keep it

• Contact enquiries: 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted.
• Newsletter sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
• Consent log: 5 years, the usual period for evidencing consent.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and portability. Email info@allegiancetek.com and we reply within 30 days. For the newsletter, the unsubscribe page takes effect immediately. You can change your cookie choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the UK regulator (the ICO) or to the authority where you live.

Security and where data is held

The site is served over HTTPS only. Contact-form and newsletter data is held on infrastructure we manage, in a professionally operated data centre, under the same teams that run our clients' systems, with access limited to the people who need it. Our information security practices are certified to ISO/IEC 27001. reCAPTCHA, Analytics and Google Fonts are Google services, so using them can mean your data is processed outside the UK and EU. Those transfers are made under the data processing contract we hold with Google, which incorporates the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the UK international data transfer addendum. That safeguard binds Google and us; there is nothing for you to sign.
