Code of conduct

What we commit to in the conduct of our business. We have put only checkable rules in it: if one of them is not kept, you can hold us to it.

Applies to employees and contractors alike

How we work with clients

  1. We resell no hardware and no licences, and we take no reseller commission. No recommendation we make is shaped by what it would earn us.
  2. We agree the price before we start. If the scope changes we say so and requote before doing the extra work, never after it.
  3. We say when a request falls outside our competence, and point you to someone better placed rather than learning at your expense.
  4. We bill only for work done. Where the fault is ours, we put it right at our own cost.

Confidentiality and access

  1. Our people work under a confidentiality agreement, with least-privilege access limited to the systems an engagement covers. That access is withdrawn when the engagement ends.
  2. We name no client, use no logo and publish no specific result without their written agreement. That is why our public references stay generic.
  3. Client data does not leave the systems we are engaged to run, unless there is an operational need agreed with them first.
  4. What we write for a client belongs to that client: source code, configuration and documentation, without restriction.
  5. We respect third-party intellectual property, and we do not put a component into your systems whose licence does not permit it.

Lawfulness and integrity

  1. We comply with the law in the countries where we work, including data protection legislation and sanctions and export-control regimes.
  2. We neither offer nor accept bribes, kickbacks or facilitation payments, in any form.
  3. Any conflict of interest is declared to the client concerned before work begins, including where we act for two competing parties.
  4. We do not disclose a vulnerability publicly until whoever is responsible for the system has had a reasonable period to fix it.

Among ourselves

  1. The same rules apply to employees and contractors alike, in every country they work in. There is no lighter standard for subcontractors.
  2. We tolerate no discrimination or harassment, whether among ourselves or towards a client, a supplier or a candidate.
  3. We keep our footprint down in concrete ways: remote working rather than travel and an office estate, and extending hardware life rather than replacing it on principle.

Raising a concern

If one of our people departs from this code, write to info@allegiancetek.com with “code of conduct” in the subject. We acknowledge within one business day, someone not involved in the engagement in question looks into it, and we tell you what we did. A concern can be raised by a client, a supplier or one of our own people, and nobody is penalised for raising one.

This code sits alongside the service agreement signed for each engagement rather than replacing it. See also our terms of service and privacy policy.
